The most recent advance in vehicle safety has to be the autonomous emergency braking system (AEB) – a sophisticated suite of sensors and electronics that monitors objects in front of your car, automatically applying the brakes for you if it senses you’re heading to hit something. Up until now these auto-brake features have not been rated, but ahead of a new 2014 test that will include AEB systems in its overall safety star scoring, Euro NCAP has put the some of the vehicles already equipped with this technology through their paces. Nissan has revealed the Nissan Invitation Concept – which will debut at the Geneva Motor Show – and previews the 2013 Nissan Note. The current Nissan Note is a competent enough compact MPV, but it’s a bit beige. But if the Nissan Invitation Concept unveiled this afternoon is anything to go by, the 2013 Nissan Note will be a lot funkier.
Carbon Motors, an Indiana-based company that aims to build police vehicles, said on Wednesday that the Department of Energy has denied its application for a loan under the Advanced Technology Vehicle Manufacturing program.
